Guardian "50" polymer test/promotional note printed by Orell Fussli Security Printing Ltd Switzerland featuring HMS Beagle on the obverse and Charles Darwin on the reverse, serial GW11 607106. Guardian is the trade name of the polymer substrate used in the printing of polymer banknotes for more than 30 central banks around the world. It was created in conjunction with CSIRO, the University of Melbourne and the Reserve Bank of Australia, and the first such note was issued as the Johnston-Fraser Bicentenary Ten Dollars 1988.
